Yoga Programming
As the Lotus travels through the mud, to develop into a beautiful flower, we grow and blossom daily in our journey. To support this journey, teacher Melissa Hamilton, CYT holds yoga and meditation programming for the young and young at heart.
The Little Lotus program is designed as an exciting and fun way to introduce your little ones to yoga-incorporating fun, games, reading, music and crafts. Children will learn basic yoga poses, meditation, breathing techniques, simple yoga principles, and stress management techniques that they will be able to utilize throughout their lives. Children will ultimately enjoy a wonderful experience bonding with you.
Teen programming begins to mirror adult class patterns. Classes will focus on yoga postures, the beginning of flowing sequences, partner work, breathing and relaxation techniques. Features such as Reading Comes Alive with Yoga, Science, Anatomy, Kinesiology, Ecology, Zoology, Arts and Music will often be incorporated. Discussions and group exercises will emphasize empathy, positive thinking, teamwork and earth care. Relaxing music, meditation and calming guided visualizations will allow for parasympathetic nervous system to engage and decrease stress in the body on an ongoing basis.
Adult Programs focus on breath and feeling, these classes draw from a range of yoga traditions including Anusvara, Forrest and Hatha Vinyasa. In addition to asana, classes include opportunities for journaling, pranayama and meditation.
Because of the recent outbreak of the Covid-19 virus I ask you bring your own mat. Please continue to check upcoming events for pop u classes and my weekly by donation online Children's Yoga Storytime's via Zoom.
